We are seeking an experienced, compassionate Practice Manager to join our central London training practice. You will oversee day-to-day operations and help deliver high-quality, patient-centred care in a warm and welcoming environment. Strong leadership experience combined with a kind, approachable manner is essential. You will work closely with two GP partners and a supportive multidisciplinary team. This is a permanent, full-time role with a salary depending on experience.
Main duties of the job:
- Lead and develop the administrative and support team, promoting teamwork and well-being.
- Manage HR processes, including recruitment, onboarding, appraisals, absence, and staff development.
- Oversee day-to-day operations including premises, IT systems, and administrative workflows.
- Manage patient interface, feedback, complaints, website, and PPG engagement.
- Oversee financial administration including budgeting, payroll, NHS pensions, income claims, and bookkeeping (Xero).
- Monitor and maximise performance in QOF and Enhanced Services.
- Ensure compliance with NHS, CQC, clinical governance, health & safety, and data protection requirements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local services, the PCN, ICB, and other stakeholders.

We are a friendly GP practice in central London, located in a beautiful square with access to a private garden, close to multiple amenities (gym, cafes, and restaurants) and in walking distance to the West End. We serve approximately 7500 patients with a team of 2 GP partners, 5 salaried GPs, 2 GP registrars, a lovely nursing and pharmacy team, a Reception/IT manager supported by a dynamic administrative team, and PCN-provided ARRS staff, including a GP assistant. Job responsibilities:
- Contract: Permanent
- Working pattern: Full-time (40 hours/week)
- Salary: Competitive, depending on experience
- Start Date: Week commencing 23rd March 2026, with flexibility for the right candidate

Person Specification:
- Previous experience in a management role.
- Demonstrable success in key areas of operational leadership, including human resources, financial management, service delivery, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to lead teams, manage change, and drive continuous improvement.
- Previous experience in general practice or healthcare with an understanding of primary care structure and workflows.
- Proficiency in using GP clinical systems, particularly SystmOne, with the ability to oversee and support staff in effective use.
- Familiarity with Primary Care Network (PCN) and Integrated Care Board (ICB) operations, with experience in collaborative working, reporting requirements, and strategic engagement.
