We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic veterinary surgeon to join our advanced orthopaedic and neurosurgery internship programme with a start date in summer/autumn 2026. Fitzpatrick Referrals is a world‑renowned independent orthopaedic-neuro specialist referral centre in Surrey with a proven track record for helping interns achieve residency positions for more than a decade.

The advanced orthopaedic and neurosurgery internship is a fixed one‑year position. The successful candidate will work under the supervision and guidance of Professor Noel Fitzpatrick. As an intern, you will play an integral role in the day‑to‑day management of advanced cases; assisting in some of the world’s most innovative and advanced orthopaedic and neurosurgical procedures, some of which are unique to our hospital, helping work‑up patients, providing world‑class in‑patient care and communicating regularly with the families of our patients. The programme includes weekly seminars and journal clubs and offers support and encouragement to prepare and publish scientific research during your internship.

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
  • Previous experience in small animal practice or an internship is an advantage, but new graduates are actively encouraged to apply.
  • Members of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons and have existing right to work in the UK or be eligible to obtain the right to work in the UK.
