Fitzpatrick Referrals is looking for a dedicated and passionate registered veterinary nurse who can provide advanced nursing care to patients who have received pioneering orthopaedic and neurological treatments during twilight hours. Your ability to be forward-thinking, show empathy and demonstrate exemplary teamwork is essential.

This position is perfect for those who wish to develop their nursing knowledge and skills to the next level and care for patients with more advanced illness and disease. You will be responsible for delivering a high level of nursing care to the patients assigned throughout the entire patient journey from diagnosis to the anaesthesia/surgical process and aftercare, so you should be a dynamic individual with high attention to detail and the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.

We have a 12-week induction training scheme where all new nurses are trained by a nursing mentor. Ongoing support is provided via quarterly one-to-one meetings and a yearly appraisal. The nursing structure and encouragement for extra learning and CPD allows nurses to grow and develop their career in different directions. Monthly lectures are held internally, by nurses, for nurses, so you can share and develop your knowledge.

This role is ideal for anyone looking to work in the later part of the day without having to work a whole night shift. We would ideally be looking for someone to work between the hours of 7pm and 1am Monday - Wednesday each week, but we are open to discussing other working hours and days for the right candidate.

We offer:

  • Competitive salary
  • RCVS registration
  • Funded CPD
  • Company pension scheme
  • Life assurance
  • Employee assistance programme

We also offer referral nursing experience days for qualified RVNs to come and spend the day with us to experience what it is like to work in a busy, specialist referral practice.
