We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic veterinary surgeons to join our neurology internship programme with a start date around April/May 2026. You must be dedicated to practising the highest standards of veterinary medicine and patient care as well as committed to furthering your career through improving your knowledge base and technical skills.
The neurology internship programme is a 12‑month period and will provide training in clinical neurology, neurosurgery, electrodiagnostics, neuroimaging, neuroanatomy, neurophysiology, and neuropathology. As an intern, you will play an integral role assisting the neurology clinicians in the daily care of patients, consultations, diagnostic procedures and neurosurgeries. We place a strong emphasis on rehabilitation and work with a team of physiotherapists and hydrotherapists. There is also the opportunity for active involvement in some of the world’s most innovative and advanced neurosurgical procedures, some of which are unique to our hospital. The programme includes weekly seminars and journal clubs and offers support and encouragement to prepare and publish scientific research during your internship.
Responsibilities
- Assist neurology clinicians in the daily care of patients, consultations, diagnostic procedures and neurosurgeries
- Participate in weekly seminars and journal clubs
- Support research preparation and publication
- Collaborate with physiotherapists and hydrotherapists on rehabilitation work
Qualifications
- Veterinary surgeon (eligible)
- Preferably completed a one‑year general/rotating internship or at least two years of general small animal practice
- Member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons
- Existing right to work in the UK or eligible to obtain right to work in the UK without a Skilled Worker Visa
- Care‑driven, excellent communication skills, exceptionally organised, thorough, and able to operate in a 24/7 team environment
- Unable to sponsor new Skilled Worker Visas for applicants currently outside of the UK
