Fitzpatrick Referrals is looking for a new floor coordinator to join our busy hospital in Eashing. This is a non-clinical role, which plays a key part in the organisation, working to ensure the smooth running of the surgical day.
The Floor Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the clinical team and flow of patients through the hospital, allocating cases and tasks to team members such as nurses, vets and care assistants, organising lunch breaks, and managing a plan for the day with many ever-changing variables. It heavily involves liaising with other hospital departments to plan procedures, triage emergencies, ensure patients are admitted and discharged, and regularly communicating with the reception department throughout the day to keep patients’ families updated.
The role requires someone who can work under pressure, collaborate with stakeholders of all levels, and possesses excellent people and communication skills. The candidate should be proactive, resourceful, care‑driven, exceptionally organised, have a high attention to detail, and be able to take in and pass on information quickly. Experience in a similar role, or coordinating people and/or operational workflow in a busy environment would be ideal.
The ability to think calmly and logically under pressure and maintain a positive attitude with high standards is essential. Some knowledge and understanding of the management of clinical cases in a veterinary or human medicine environment is desirable. Ability to learn quickly, work as part of a team, and work unsupervised using own initiative is required.
We offer a company pension scheme, enhanced maternity/paternity and adoption leave, enhanced annual leave entitlement, life assurance and an award‑winning employee assistance programme. Early applications are encouraged and we reserve the right to close for applications before the closing date.
