Our client is a well‑established and growing food manufacturing business operating 25 minutes from Newry, Co. Down. The organisation plays a key role in producing specialised bakery products for a wider group. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Finance Manager to join the leadership team. This is a senior role with full responsibility for financial performance, governance, and strategic financial direction at site level. You will act as the primary finance lead on‑site, partnering closely with operational leadership to drive commercial performance, support growth, optimise margins, and ensure strong financial control.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the production of high‑quality management accounts, reporting, and performance analysis
  • Take ownership of P&L performance, providing insight, challenge, and recommendations
  • Deliver in‑depth financial and operational analysis across key cost drivers
  • Manage balance sheet integrity, working capital, and cash flow
  • Own the budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Lead capital investment appraisals and track return on investment
  • Ensure strong financial controls, compliance, and audit readiness
  • Partner with wider group finance teams to maintain alignment with group standards
  • Lead, develop, and support the on‑site finance team
  • Drive continuous improvement across financial processes and reporting

Requirements

  • ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified with minimum of 5 years post‑qualified experience
  • Proven experience in FMCG or manufacturing, ideally site‑based
  • Strong background in management accounting, analysis, and forecasting
  • Experience leading and developing teams
  • Comprehensive knowledge of accounting software (e.g., Sage 200)
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Commercially minded with the ability to challenge and influence decisions
