We're looking for a hands-on Senior Finance Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day finance function, ensuring the business has robust financial processes, accurate reporting and strong financial controls to support its continued success. Working closely with the founders and senior leadership team, you'll play a key role in keeping the finance function running smoothly, delivering reliable financial information and helping build the operational foundations that will support the next phase of growth.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Finance Manager who enjoys being close to the detail. You'll take ownership of the day-to-day finance operation, producing accurate management accounts, overseeing transactional finance, maintaining strong financial controls and ensuring month-end reporting is delivered accurately and on time. Alongside managing the operational finance function, you'll work closely with senior leaders to provide meaningful financial insight through budgeting, forecasting and performance reporting, helping the business make informed commercial decisions as it continues to grow.

Key responsibilities- Take ownership of the day-to-day finance function across the business
- Oversee purchase ledger, sales ledger, bank reconciliations and general ledger activities
- Ensure journals, accruals and prepayments are processed accurately
- Maintain strong financial controls and ensure the integrity of financial data
- Monitor cash flow and working capital across the business
- Produce accurate monthly management accounts, including profit & loss, balance sheet and cash flow reporting
- Own the month-end reporting process and deliver timely financial information
- Prepare budgets, forecasts and cash flow reporting to support business planning
- Monitor financial performance against budget, identifying key variances and trends
- Support year-end audit preparation and statutory reporting requirements
- Manage end-to-end UK payroll and associated compliance
- Prepare VAT returns and support statutory reporting requirements
- Liaise with external accountants, auditors and advisers
- Ensure ongoing compliance with financial and regulatory obligations
- Continuously improve finance processes and reporting efficiencies
- Support improvements to finance systems and controls
- Help build scalable finance processes to support future business growth
- Has proven experience in a hands-on Finance Manager, Senior Management Accountant, Financial Accountant or similar role within a growing SME or founder-led business
- Is ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified (or equivalent)
- Has strong experience producing monthly management accounts, owning month-end and delivering accurate financial reporting
- Enjoys being hands-on with day-to-day finance operations and takes pride in maintaining robust financial controls and accurate financial data
- Has experience preparing budgets, forecasts and cash flow reporting to support business planning
- Is highly organised, detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment
- Enjoys improving finance processes, identifying efficiencies and implementing strong operational controls
- Experience and interest within the fitness, wellness or leisure; and enthusiasm for The Method's brand and mission
- Experience using Xero or similar cloud-based accounting software
- Exposure to multi-site operations or international entities
