We’re looking for a Social Media Specialist to help create, drive and execute the FitFlop social strategy to its fullest extent to create buzz around the FitFlop brand. You’ll be immersed in Instagram, TikTok and Facebook, with great ideas for supporting channels (e.g. Pinterest and YouTube) too. Of course, it goes without saying that you’ll be constantly tuned into the digital world, to identify trends and topics, create and deliver content, spin stories around our product, cultivate advocates and digital influences and keep FitFlop in the forefront of the digital world – all in a reactive, real‑time manner.
Responsibilities
- Propose channel specific strategies and set KPIs that balance the needs of brand and trade marketing through a social‑first lens.
- Ideate and pitch content stories for social media on a rolling basis, working to a monthly content matrix, seasonal and digital trends, and consumer mindset.
- Help develop social franchises to frame content production and creative, based on performance and social trends.
- Advising on social deliverables and key styles writing concise briefs for production and studio teams to ensure execution for BAU content, as well as seasonal campaigns and ad hoc projects (e.g. collaborations).
- Reviewing and feeding back on social processes and content, managing deadlines to ensure posts go out in a timely manner, aligned to campaign, stock and seasonal pushes.
- Ownership of the social calendar across all channels, including planning posts, writing captions, adding trending sound (as needed) and scheduling content.
- Create engagement‑driving initiatives for social media, working with other brands, talent and agencies to pitch and execute new ideas.
- Help increase brand awareness through editorial storytelling initiatives on social media, e.g. in the creation of social‑first content series.
- Creating monthly reports to track performance and progress, helping amend strategy and briefs accordingly.
- Community management (likes, replying, reposting etc) on platforms, in tandem with Client Services, with a light‑touch approach to cover weekends (time back in lieu).
- Monitoring UGC (authentic and from paid creators/influencers) to make recommendations for social calendar, working closely with the Influencer Marketing Team.
- Identifying and reporting back on new social and market trends and algorithm changes on platforms, as well as researching competitors, new platforms and digital wins to help inform content and adapt strategy.
- File, assets and document management to ensure smooth process to posting (e.g. managing sign‑off and corresponding documents, Box/Asset Bank folders, test sites etc).
- Releasing assets on a weekly/adhoc basis to wider and international teams.
- Review partner and distributor social media calendars, feeding back on content and copy.
- Identify and execute paid activations (e.g. boosting), working closely with the Digital Marketing Team to share findings and content.
- Understand and help plan social budget, mapping out spend and forecast against planned activations, in alignment with the finance team.
- Keeping track of upcoming promotions, sales and focus styles to push on social, in alignment with trade teams.
- Researching new social scheduling and listening tools, making recommendations on how to optimize services.
- Understanding and ability to make simple content edits in‑app or through online tools, e.g. Canva, QuickTime Player, Photoshop (or as preferred).
- Recommend and help execute reactive posts in line with viral moments and trends on social.
- Being the ‘go‑to person’ across the business for social media enquiries, managing content sign‑off processes and assisting the wider content and social production teams, as required.
- Social assistance for key brand moments, events and launches.
The Person
- You’ll have already gained experience working within a social media role in a fashion or retail environment.
- Immersed in social media, with a keen understanding of the differences between channels.
- Experience working with social scheduling and listening tools (e.g. Sprout Social, BrandBastion, etc).
- Upbeat, energetic, creative and passionate.
- A passion for editorial and storytelling through social content, with an understanding of trade requirements.
- Super organised, detail‑oriented, and able to react to changing business needs.
- A team player, who is just as comfortable working independently and collaboratively.
- A go‑getter, you’ll be deadline driven and super proactive – someone who thinks ahead to anticipate future needs and can take on a project and run with it.
