We’re looking for a highly creative, hands-on Social Media Manager to help turn big ideas into brilliant content. Reporting directly to Head of Content & Social you will own the strategic development of our organic social and content ecosystem — crafting platform-specific strategies, leading content planning, and collaborating closely with both our Social Media Specialist and Junior Creative to bring ideas to life. You will be responsible for building a cohesive, high-performing social and content plan that deepens our audience connection, drives engagement, and supports broader brand and performance marketing goals.
The Responsibilities
- Develop and own the organic social content strategy for FitFlop across all platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest, YouTube etc.)
- Create and maintain a content calendar aligned to campaign moments, brand priorities, seasonal opportunities, and cultural trends
- Lead content ideation and briefing for the Junior Creative and Social Specialist — ensuring strong execution against strategy
- Translate strategic ideas into clear content briefs — including narrative flow, structure, and creative direction for storyboarding and asset development
- Partner with the Social Specialist to optimize content for platform nuances and performance insights
- Partner with our Creative and Production teams to ensure content captured from key shoot moments is optimized for social media
- Collaborate with the Digital Marketing team to ensure organic content can fuel paid social campaigns — advising on asset adaptation, messaging alignment, and creative optimization for performance needs
- Collaborate closely with brand team channel owners to align on messaging, creative, and timing for fully integrated campaigns
- Present creative concept ideas and performance analysis to senior stakeholders, both within the wider brand team and across the business
- Stay immersed in social trends, audience behaviour, competitor activity, and platform updates — proactively feeding strategic recommendations into the team
- Ensure all content maintains brand consistency, tone, and visual excellence, supporting brand elevation
- Identify and manage opportunities for community growth, UGC amplification, and influencer collaboration, in partnership with broader brand initiatives
- Assist the Social Media Specialist and CX team with the management of online communities and comments, helping foster engagement and activity
- Attend production and content shoots where required to ensure capture and edit is optimized for social media
- Provide strategic guidance, templates, and creative toolkits to support international teams managing local social media channels
- Exploration and integration of emerging AI tools (e.g. for ideation, content planning, visual prototyping, or copy assistance) to enhance workflow efficiency and spark creative innovation
- Be a mentor and strategic guide for the Junior Creative and Social Specialist — helping to grow creative thinking and executional excellence within the team
The Person
- A natural storyteller and strategic thinker — able to connect brand goals with social culture and audience needs
- Confident in content strategy, channel planning, and platform best practices
- Experienced in leading and mentoring junior team members across creative and social execution
- Highly collaborative, with excellent cross-functional communication skills
- Data-informed but creatively driven — balancing performance with brand storytelling
- A strong eye for content — able to confidently brief, guide, and review social-first creative across visuals and copy
- Curious, inquisitive, proactive, and energized by the ever-evolving digital landscape
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple projects and timelines
The Benefits
- Product Allowance
- Hybrid and flexible working hours
- Summer Fridays (6 ½ days in July and August on Fridays)
- A day off for your Birthday
- 25 days holiday + Bank Holidays
- Work from anywhere for 2 weeks
- WorkPlace Nursery (salary sacrifice scheme to save money on your nursery fees)
- Wellbeing Program – Retail Trust, Sanctus Coaching and Calm App
- Career development allowance (Personal allowance to use on career development)
- Private health care and or dental care (provided by AXA and DenPlan)
- Socials organised by Wellbeing and Feel Good group
