Join to apply for the Network Engineer role at FITFILE
FITFILE is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Network Engineer with a specialisation in cloud-native environments and tooling, particularly within the Kubernetes ecosystem. The company’s diverse clientele, including major healthcare organisations, rely on the team’s deep expertise to deliver robust, scalable, and secure network solutions. This pivotal role is critical for bridging data provider on-premises or cloud environments with FITFILE’s cloud-first infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration and a stringent security posture across the company’s multi-cloud and on-premise deployments.
FITFILE is looking for someone who inherently understands cloud networking and cloud-native tooling, rather than a generic DevOps practitioner.
The successful candidate has 5-10 years of platform engineering experience and has accumulated the below-outlined skills ideally in fast-growing teams where data is the product. In addition, healthcare experience is very important to have the necessary sensitivity and understanding of operational environments. In any case, a keen interest in how healthcare can be improved with better use of data and a commitment to quickly learning specifically relevant aspects are essential.
The successful candidate will help anticipate, plan for and execute the optimal evolution and delivery of FITFILE’s networking, software deployment and operation.
The lean, agile and relatively early-stage nature of FITFILE will necessitate a hands-on and pragmatic approach to meeting stretch deadlines with limited resources.
What will you do?
As a Platform Engineer at FITFILE, you will be instrumental in:
- Enforcing secure configurations on Kubernetes clusters with OPA policies and other best practices
- Designing, integrating, deploying, and managing network infrastructure, including firewalls, load balancers, DNS (public and private) and routing (cloud and/or physical networks)
- Implementing system-wide zero-trust security principles (for tools/ systems/ platforms)
- Rolling out maintenance upgrades/patches to distributed systems
- Troubleshooting and resolving complex network issues across various platforms and environments
- Automating infrastructure provisioning and management using Terraform and GitOps processes
- Implementing and maintaining a cloud native observability system, across multiple environments
- Collaborating proactively with internal and external teams to gather requirements and provide tailored, secure solutions
Experience with FITFILE-relevant tooling
The successful candidate will be able to showcase a deep understanding of the underlying principles of secure networking. To provide insight into the tools we currently use, the relevant technology stack is listed below:
- Hashicorp Vault (Secrets management)
- Grafana stack for observability
- Terraform (Terraform Cloud)

Company Benefits
- Current “virtual-first” approach to support flexible personal location
- Regular team events and strong emphasis on a supportive, enjoyable culture

- 25 days of holiday + bank holidays
- Last but not least: solving meaningful challenges to make a real difference to lives
