Fitch Solutions, a global leader in emerging markets analysis, is currently looking for a Freelance Analyst who specialises in the Latin America Country Risk sector to update quarterly and annual Country Risk reports. Each report covers a single country and contains both qualitative and quantitative analysis, including Fitch Solutions’ proprietary sector-specific and macroeconomic data and forecasts. Work is assigned on a quarterly basis, and you would be responsible for covering an agreed number of reports and articles each quarter.
We are looking for candidates with a strong interest in current affairs across developed and emerging markets. The successful applicant will also have strong research and writing skills, as well as an ability to work with and analyse large volumes of data; existing knowledge of economics is appreciated.
The Freelance Analyst will need to:
- Draft country risk reports and associated analytical research notes covering key political, economic and financial developments in their assigned markets.
- Monitor government policy actions and assess their implications for the macro environment.
- Produce coherent and internally consistent macroeconomic projections across the four main sectors of the economy.
Basic Requirements:
- Previous experience (academic or professional) working in research and analytical positions, including writing about data forecasts and macroeconomic trends.
- Experience in Latin America markets or macroeconomics is highly desirable.
- Keen interest in economics, global financial markets, current and world affairs.
- The ability to work with and analyse large data sets.
- Fluent spoken and written English, with a preference for Spanish and Portuguese speakers.
- Familiarity analysing connections between political and macroeconomic risk.
- Experience with a Content Management System (CMS) is desired.
