Overview
In this role you lead the design and delivery of next-generation ML systems for Fitch's AI initiative. You will shape foundational AI architectures, work across product and engineering to deploy scalable solutions, and mentor peers while remaining hands-on. You’ll champion agentic AI, multi-agent orchestration, and production-grade platforms that impact credit analysis and financial markets. This is a mission-driven, high-impact opportunity with executive backing and a path toward senior technical leadership.
Responsibilities
- Define and architect net-new ML systems and AI platforms at scale
- Lead exploration and productionization of generative AI, multi-agent workflows, and RAG architectures
- Set ML engineering standards, governance, and deployment patterns
- Mentor engineers and partner with product and cross-functional teams to translate ideas into technical solutions
- Implement robust ML engineering practices, CI/CD for ML, and scalable APIs for model deployment
- Monitor model performance, reliability, and SLAs; optimize for business outcomes
- Engage with senior stakeholders and influence strategic decisions around AI delivery
- Shape team culture around experimentation, learning, and risk-aware innovation
Key requirements
- 12+ years in production AI/ML, strong Python and ML algorithms proficiency
- Experience designing scalable ML systems from scratch and making architectural decisions in ambiguous environments
- Hands-on generative AI expertise with LLMs, agentic systems, and RAG architectures; experience with PyTorch
- Bachelor’s degree in compatible fields
- Production ML engineering expertise: containers, cloud platforms, Airflow, API development for deployment
- Leadership in technical initiatives, mentoring, and influencing without formal authority
