Overview

Fitch Ratings, part of Fitch Group, is seeking a Quantitative Analyst / Senior Analyst based in London. The role is a 6-month fixed-term contract with a high likelihood of extension to a permanent position. Fitch Ratings is a global credit ratings agency providing credit analysis, ratings, research, and commentary to financial markets.

Responsibilities

  • Gain and leverage knowledge of credit modelling, rating methodology and criteria.
  • Contribute to the development of models across sectors including Corporates, Infrastructure and Project Finance, Financial Institutions, and Governments and Public Finance.
  • Collaborate with team members to research, design, implement and enhance models, conduct comprehensive testing, and prepare model documentation.
  • Support other team initiatives such as trainings, research projects and user/client support.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in quantitative disciplines such as Financial Engineering.
  • Programming and model development experience in Excel/VBA and Python or R.
  • Ability to solve problems using critical, rational and creative thinking.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to convey technical concepts clearly.
  • Strong work ethic and teamwork.

What Would Make You Stand Out

  • Prior experience in credit risk, financial/cashflow or statistical modelling, with hands-on exposure in Excel/VBA, Python or R.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage timelines across multiple projects.
