BMI is currently seeking a Political Risk Analyst based in our London office.

BMI’s Political Risk team works within the wider Country Risk and Industry Research team. Our political, macroeconomic, and industry analysis is closely coordinated to ensure a holistic approach to global, regional, and country-level developments.
How You’ll Make an Impact:
You will contribute to:
- Daily analysis and forecasting of political developments across a wide range of countries in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Latin America, and Asia, including both domestic and foreign policy.
- Daily monitoring of a full range of political risk indicators on our GeoQuant platform, and liaising with our Country Risk team of analysts on interpreting and writing around the data.
- Monitoring and analysis of opinion polls and elections worldwide.
- Managing election previews for major economies, and contributing to thematic special reports.
- Playing a critical role in shaping analytical views in an award-winning Country Risk Team.
- Integrating political analysis with economic forecasts and financial market performance, and public policy issues with our industry coverage.
- Presenting to a wide variety of clients on political risks.
You May be a Good Fit if you have:
- A degree or Master’s degree in Economics, Political or Social Science.
- Relevant experience in a similar analytical role.
- Very strong numerical and data skills, especially analysis and interpretation of data.
- Strong working knowledge of main public policy issues affecting European countries.
- Good understanding of macroeconomic concepts.
- Excellent writing and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently to tight deadlines, as well as in a team environment.
- Ability to organise your workflow and prioritise tasks at hand.
- Independent, ‘out-of-the-box’ thinking.

- Fluency in another European language would be advantageous.
