Fitch Group is currently seeking a Director level Product Owner based out of our London office.

How You'll Make an Impact

  • Define and communicate the product vision, priorities and roadmap for the financial statement data platform, ensuring alignment with stakeholder needs and Fitch’s strategy.
  • Collaborate with business partners and senior people throughout the business to coordinate across different groups, identify the most appropriate stakeholders to work with, and communicate effectively in support of product delivery.
  • Draw out business needs from stakeholder requests, translate them into practical initiatives, and define clear requirements for workflows covering financial statement collection, audit, adjustments and related controls.
  • Prioritise product initiatives and manage delivery from start to finish, including defining scope, agreeing what is reasonable given constraints, and reprioritising tasks based on changing events and business needs.
  • Align the team’s strategic objectives with stakeholder needs, managing expectations, challenging over‑optimistic promises where needed, and maintaining ownership of issues and resolutions.
  • Ensure the platform supports high‑quality, auditable and well‑governed financial data processes, including appropriate controls, documentation and compliance with Fitch’s internal policies and procedures.
  • Develop long‑term plans, contingency plans and operational improvements for the platform, while balancing organizational needs, stakeholder requirements and resource constraints.
  • Set standards for internal client service, maintain a positive and collaborative working approach, and ensure high‑quality delivery against agreed targets and service expectations.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the team, creating a culture of empowerment, encouraging responsibility and initiative, and supporting others in prioritising tasks and delivering effectively.

  • Ability to define priorities clearly, manage scope, and support delivery from start to finish, while responding flexibly to changing circumstances and reprioritising tasks when needed.
  • Ability to balance business needs, people needs, resource constraints and operational priorities, with an understanding of how different parts of the organisation and system work together.
  • Ability to work independently, whilst also being a strong leader with the ability to inspire others within a team environment.
  • Proven experience working in agile / product‑led environments.
  • Strong backlog management and story‑writing capability.

  • Experience owning or supporting a data‑centric product, workflow platform, or operational tool, ideally involving financial statement collection, review, audit, adjustment, or governance processes.

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, including the ability to manage expectations, facilitate understanding of what is involved, and guide people toward collegiate solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify themes and patterns from stakeholder issues and use them to shape product or process improvements.
  • Experience working across business, operations, and technology teams, collaborating effectively with different groups to coordinate delivery.
  • Ability to think beyond immediate requests, considering longer‑term product needs, future plans, and operational improvements.
  • Experience defining and tracking benefits, outcomes, and KPIs.
