Fitch Ratings’ Corporate, Infrastructure & Project Finance Enhanced Analytics team is seeking a Director of Research based out of our London office. The position reports to the Head of Global Corporate, Infrastructure & Project Finance Research and will help leverage Fitch’s proprietary data by using analytical expertise to support the team’s core suite of research products. The Director of Research will focus on topical issues in the EMEA and APAC regions with responsibility for working with the Head of Global CIPF Research to publish a broad range of insightful value-added regional and global content to support investors’ decisions in a rapidly evolving and highly competitive market.

We Will Count on You To:

  • Perform Data Analytics – Work with EA data analysts and EA research team to clean, organize and analyze internal systems data to support periodic data-based monitors, outlook reports and topical research publications.
  • Help Integrate Infrastructure & Project Finance Data & Analytics into our Core Research Suite.
  • Improve Research Production Efficiency – Collaborate with the Head of Research to find ways to reduce time to market for regular, typically quarterly, reports.
  • Draft Regional Research Reports – Work with Head of Research to prepare global data-based monitors and regional monitors and topical research reports.
  • Use Data Visualization – Help maintain database of regional and global graphics for research reports and presentations by Heads of Research and Regional Group Heads.
  • Periodically Attend Rating Committees – Observe European and APAC rating committees to gather insights on sector trends as well as regional and global themes for research publication.
  • Interact with Coverage Analysts – Work with Head of Research to gather information from global team of sector analysts for cross-sector research publications.

What You Need to Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree with successful completion of business-related coursework.
  • 7-10 years of relevant experience in corporate credit analysis and research.
  • High-level proficiency with Microsoft Excel to help organize large data sets for analysis.
  • Strong analytical skills, written communication skills and intellectual curiosity.
  • Solid understanding of debt capital markets and ability to relate it to credit ratings.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and shift priorities as needed.
  • Self-motivation with demonstrated ability to work individually and effectively with a team, particularly with colleagues of different time zones as needed.

What Would Make You Stand Out:

  • Proven ability to be a lead author on research that is relevant for investors and that effectively focuses on and communicates key credit messages.
  • Experience as a rating agency, buy-side or sell-side analyst.
  • Knowledge of international markets, particularly Europe or Asia markets.
