Fitch Ratings is currently seeking a Credit Analyst - Structured Finance, ABS. Analyst/Senior Analyst level based out of our London office. As one of the world’s top three credit ratings agencies, Fitch Ratings plays a critical role in global capital markets by providing supplementary credit analysis, ratings, research, and commentary to financial market participants.

Fitch’s European Structured Finance team maintains existing ratings and assigns ratings to new structured finance transactions. Fitch currently rates Structured Finance transactions across four main asset classes: Asset Backed Securities, Residential Mortgage-Backed Securities, Commercial Mortgage-Backed Securities, and Structured Credit.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Assess credit risk of consumer loan portfolios
  • Implement cash flow modelling
  • Review transaction legal documents
  • Conduct on-site reviews of underwriting and servicing practices of originators
  • Prepare rating proposals for presentation to internal rating committees
  • Communicate rating rationale to investors and other market participants through pre-sale reports, presentations, research and meetings
  • Communicate with transaction arrangers and originators to understand asset characteristics and structural features of the transactions
  • Support in the development of criteria and supporting research

  • Ability to review, understand and analyse legal transaction documents from a credit risk perspective

  • Relevant experience in credit analysis acquired at, for example, an accountancy firm, bank, consultancy, rating agency, specialist lender or trustee
  • Ideally direct experience in securitisation or origination of consumer assets
  • Other backgrounds will be considered, provided the candidate can demonstrate sufficient aptitude in the behaviours and skills detailed herein
  • Intellectually curious and inquisitive, with a willingness to challenge precedent
  • Fluency in other European languages
  • Strong organisational skills in completing and prioritising work
