Fitch Group is currently seeking an Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller based out of our London or Manchester office. The Assistant Controller is a key Finance team member dedicated to supporting Fitch Learning's operations. This role acts as a primary point of contact for operational finance, helping to integrate our recently acquired business whilst providing support to FP&A and Management Accountant teams.

How Youll Make An Impact

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of our business lines and their strategic objectives in relation to financial operations.
  • Serve as the main operational contact for Fitch Learning, ensuring smooth financial operations and reporting.
  • Lead the integration process for the newly acquired business, coordinating with relevant teams to embed best practices.
  • Master workflow systems from order to cash and purchase to pay, proposing process improvements.
  • Manage monthly performance reporting with full accountability.
  • Support FP&A by building robust reporting structures and refining financial forecasting models.
  • Prepare analyses and provide actionable insights for senior management.
  • Drive process enhancements in financial operations to support strategic business goals.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions that drive efficiency.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely financial data is available for decision-making; offer ad hoc support to explore trends and resolve emerging issues.
  • Function as a reliable Business and Finance partner to the Fitch Solutions Management Team and Group Finance/Accounting.
  • Work with senior stakeholders to influence major financial decisions.

  • Proven experience of business operations and process improvements that have been delivered.
  • Experience with integration projects following business acquisitions.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and financial software applications (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Problem-solving abilities utilizing available resources effectively.
  • Fully Qualified or part-qualified Accountant.
  • Excellent analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
