Data Marketplace Product Owner
Fitch Group’s Chief Data Office (CDO) is hiring a strategic, execution-oriented Product Owner to lead the continued growth and evolution of our internal Data Marketplace – a cornerstone of our enterprise data strategy, enabling data discovery, access, and innovation across the firm.
Built on a federated architecture aligned to data mesh principles, the Marketplace empowers domain teams to publish governed, fit-for-purpose data products and enables internal consumers to find and access what they need – quickly, securely, and at scale. As adoption expands from technical teams to business users, this role will be central to scaling the Marketplace technology and processes, delivering high-value capabilities and embedding data into the way we work across Fitch.
What We Offer:
- Impactful Work: This role, reporting to the Head of Data Strategy & Programs, offers a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in unlocking data for innovation, AI and smarter decision-making.
- Collaborative Environment: You will collaborate with stakeholders across data technology, data governance, compliance and business functions to deliver Marketplace capabilities that power the full data product lifecycle – from onboarding to discoverability to safe access and downstream integration.
- Professional Development: You’ll also lead a growing team of associate product owners to manage multiple delivery squads, contribute to the broader data strategy, and champion a federated model for enterprise-wide data enablement.
We’ll Count on You To:
- Act as the champion and advocate for the Data Marketplace, driving its adoption and continuous improvement
- Define, communicate, and maintain the product strategy, roadmap, and prioritized backlog, ensuring alignment with business goals
- Manage the Marketplace product team to maintain delivery velocity, quality, and alignment to shared goals
- Support the shift from technical to business adoption by delivering intuitive, self-serve capabilities for analysts, product managers, and functional stakeholders
- Collaborate with stakeholders across Fitch to understand their data-related needs and translate them into a detailed plan that enhances our data capabilities and supports business and data strategies
- Serve as a trusted partner to the Data Marketplace Services team responsible for day-to-day user engagement, as well as to the Chief Software Office, responsible for the technical how, helping to evolve our data mesh model and operating model
- Partner with governance, infosec, compliance and architecture teams to embed policy, lineage and entitlements into Marketplace workflows by design
- Ensure alignment and coordination with other product owners and stakeholders across the CDO organization
- Provide regular updates to senior management on product strategy, progress, and successes
- Contribute to executive communications and ROI tracking to showcase Marketplace adoption, value delivery, and forward roadmap
What You Need to Have:
- 7+ years in product management, data products or platform delivery – preferably in complex or regulated financial market environments
- Strong understanding of data product thinking and modern data enablement strategies
- Demonstrated experience turning user and stakeholder needs into clear roadmap priorities, epics and user stories
- Familiarity with data discovery, cataloging, entitlements, and access enablement concepts
- Proven ability to work across business, data and technology teams, managing delivery in agile environments
- Excellent communications and stakeholder management skills across technical, business, and executive levels
- A proactive and capable manner of working at pace to make informed decisions and eliminate barriers
- Familiarity with Starburst, AWS S3, data lake formation, Collibra, SQL, and APIs
What Would Make You Stand Out:
- Experience working with data in financial markets
