Fitch Ratings is currently seeking a Director, Ratings Operational Risk, based out of our Manchester office.
About the TeamThis role will report to the Head of Ratings' Operational Risk Management within the Regulatory Affairs, Policies and Procedures team. The Ratings' Operational Risk Management team is responsible for identifying, assessing, and managing operational risks for Ratings.
How You'll Make an Impact- Drive continuous enhancement of our operational risk frameworks through structured assessments and control evaluations that strengthen our risk posture and resilience.
- Design and implement automated reporting solutions to streamline operational risk reporting processes, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness in report generation and delivery.
- Work closely with various teams, such as IT and Risk, across the organization to gather requirements, share insights, and work on controls.
- Present findings and recommendations to senior management and other key stakeholders.
- A minimum of 5 years professional experience in operational risk management, ideally within financial services or consulting environment, with handsâon experience in risk assessment, control evaluation and operational issue resolution.
- Senior stakeholder management capability, with sound judgment to balance proactive initiative with consultative collaboration.
- Proven track record delivering risk and control improvements through change management, including process redesign, audit remediation, and stakeholder alignment.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and generate actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
- Fluent English skills with nearânative proficiency, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated high level of integrity and professionalism.
- Technical mindset and strong systems thinkingâcomfortable engaging with IT on technical concepts, understanding system dependencies, and translating between technology and operational risk perspectives.
- Structured, proactive, and deliveryâfocused approach; comfortable managing multiple workstreams independently while being a collaborative team player.
- Serviceâoriented mindset - responsive, helpful, and committed to knowledgeâsharing and supporting colleagues.
- Strong problemâsolving skills and excellent attention to detail.

- Advanced proficiency in PowerBI/Qlik and automation tools (Python/SQL a plus).
