Fitch Ratings is currently seeking an Associate Director based out of the Manchester office. The Ratings Business Analytics team provides high-quality, in-depth strategic analysis to drive better outcomes for Fitch Ratings. The team works closely with the Ratings Operations heads on business transformation initiatives, including developing business cases, evaluating cost/benefits for new initiatives, and reviewing and making recommendations on process re-engineering.

We’ll Count on You To:

  • Perform ongoing competitor intelligence, identifying news on competitors’ activities including strategic announcements, M&A, product launches, financial results, etc.
  • Compile and analyse data and research from internal and external sources.
  • Work with senior team members to build clear insights on Fitch’s business performance and competitive positioning.
  • Analyse market trends that impact Fitch Ratings’ business, including new and emerging markets, AI and technology trends, and other operational trends that influence the Ratings and broader financial services industry.
  • Own aspects of monthly and quarterly reporting for senior management.
  • Focus on automation and efficiency in producing regular reporting/analysis and propose improvements to processes.
  • Assist in the production of business cases with actionable recommendations – to support high-level decision-making on operations, strategy, tactics and change initiatives.
  • Participate and/or lead competitor intelligence deep dives on specific topics.
  • Participate in the development of presentations that communicate Fitch’s business and/or operational strategies, objectives and plans to senior management and executive audiences.

What You Need to Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in business, finance, economics, or similar analytical fields.
  • 4+ years’ experience working in a consulting, in-house strategy, or strategic financial planning and analysis role, ideally related to credit rating agencies, financial services, or the debt capital markets.
  • Experience in building business cases/presentations that identify important trends and deliver data-driven insights.
  • The ability to create structured, detailed and compelling presentations addressed to various audiences within the organization.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task effectively and prioritise different assignments whilst maintaining accuracy and adhering to tight deadlines.
  • A collaborative nature; a team player who works effectively with colleagues and project stakeholders.
