Quantity Surveyor – Retail Fit-Out & Nationwide Rollouts (Assistant / Intermediate / Senior) Fit Out UK | Commercial Team | Full-time Location: Farringdon, London

We’re looking for Quantity Surveyors at all levels — from ambitious Assistants through to experienced Seniors — who want to take real ownership of commercial delivery on high-volume retail fit-out and multi-site nationwide rollout programmes. Whether you’re building your commercial foundations or already leading packages, this is a hands-on role where you’ll manage budgets, cost control and commercial recovery across live multi-site projects for leading UK brands.

Key Responsibilities (Level of ownership and complexity will match your experience)

  • Provide commercial support or full commercial management of multi-site retail fit-out and nationwide rollout programmes
  • Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs), valuations, variations and final accounts
  • Procure and commercially manage labour-only subcontractors and specialist packages
  • Negotiate labour rates, subcontract packages and commercial agreements
  • Track store-level costs, productivity, programme performance and project margins
  • Identify commercial risks, cost exposure and opportunities for recovery
  • Work closely with Project Managers, Procurement and Operations to maintain tight commercial control
  • Ensure all additional works, changes and subcontractor costs are properly instructed, recorded and recovered

What We’re Looking For

  • Interest in (or experience of) retail fit-out, shopfitting or interior construction
  • Strong commercial mindset, attention to detail and desire to improve cost control
  • Good Excel and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced delivery environment
  • Commercially aware, proactive and confident questioning costs and assumptions

Assistant / Intermediate

  • Some experience in Quantity Surveying (ideally within construction, interiors or retail)
  • Willingness to learn multi-site rollout commercial processes and labour-only subcontract management
  • Enthusiasm to develop skills in CVRs, valuations, variations and final accounts

Senior

  • Proven Quantity Surveying experience in retail fit-out, shopfitting or multi-site programmes
  • Track record managing nationwide or multi-site retail rollouts
  • Hands-on experience with labour-only subcontractors and installation teams
  • Strong negotiation, cost-control and commercial recovery skills
