Fit Out UK is a leading specialist in interior fit-out and logistics, delivering high-quality projects for major clients across retail, hospitality, commercial and other sectors nationwide. We are looking for an experienced Health & Safety Manager to help maintain and strengthen our commitment to safety across all sites and operations.
Location: Hybrid/remote with regular site visits (primarily UK project locations). Working pattern will be flexible and driven by current project activity.
Role Overview
You will be responsible for developing, implementing and overseeing health and safety policies and procedures to ensure safe working environments on our construction and fit-out sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement and regularly review health and safety policies to ensure compliance with legislation and best practice.
- Carry out risk assessments, identify hazards and implement effective controls to reduce accidents and incidents.
- Provide health and safety training, inductions and guidance to employees, contractors and visitors.
- Investigate incidents, near-misses and accidents; determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
- Conduct site inspections and audits, ensuring standards are met and improvements are actioned.
- Produce health and safety reports and management information to support senior leadership.
- Liaise with clients, regulators and stakeholders on safety matters.
- Promote a strong safety culture through communication, collaboration and visible leadership.
Skills and Experience
- Proven experience as a Health & Safety professional in construction or fit-out.
- Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and regulations.
- Relevant professional qualification (e.g. NEBOSH, IOSH).
- Experience working on main contractor or large-scale projects is desirable.
- Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Confident working independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and health & safety management systems.
