Fit Out UK is an award-winning interior fit-out and off-site manufacturing specialist delivering high-profile projects for blue-chip clients in retail, hospitality, banking, and commercial sectors across the UK. We are expanding our team at our brand-new, state-of-the-art workshop in Doncaster – focused on innovative joinery, metalwork, asset refurbishment, 'plug & play' solutions, and sustainable, net-zero delivery.
We are seeking an experienced Estimator & System Structure Creator to join our growing Doncaster team. This key technical role combines precise cost estimation with structured system design and planning to drive accurate budgeting, efficient project execution, risk management, and resource optimisation in our fast-paced fit-out and manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Estimation Duties
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for fit-out and manufacturing projects, including materials, labour, equipment, overheads, and contingencies.
- Analyse technical drawings, specifications, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and supporting documentation.
- Develop reliable time, cost, and resource forecasts.
- Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and operations teams to confirm pricing, feasibility, and value engineering opportunities.
- Identify cost savings, risks, and mitigation strategies.
- Maintain and update estimation databases, historical cost records, and benchmarks.
- Support tendering processes, bid preparation, and proposal submissions.
- Design and develop robust system structures, workflows, process layouts, and operational frameworks.
- Create system architectures, Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), process hierarchies, and dependency maps.
- Define system logic, interdependencies, sequencing, and operational flows.
- Produce clear documentation, diagrams, flowcharts, and technical manuals.
- Ensure alignment with project requirements, industry standards, and client specifications.
- Support system implementation, handover, and troubleshooting.
Essential Skills & Experience (Must-Haves):
- 3–8 years' experience in cost estimation, system planning, project engineering, or a similar technical role (ideally in construction, fit-out, interiors, manufacturing, or joinery).
- Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and BOMs.
- Proven analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced level), estimation software, ERP systems, or project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Asta Powerproject).
- Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
- Logical problem-solving and risk identification abilities.
Desirable:
- Experience in fit-out, shopfitting, off-site manufacturing, or interiors sectors.
- Knowledge of sustainability/net-zero practices in project delivery.
