Role Description

The Holiday Club Lead / Manager is a on-site role based in Ash, responsible for overseeing the daily operation of the holiday club and ensuring a safe, engaging environment for all children.

This role includes planning and delivering a schedule of age-appropriate physical activities, games, creative sessions, and wellbeing-focused exercises.

The Holiday Club Lead / Manager will supervise and support staff, allocate duties, and model positive, child-centered practice.

Responsibilities also include safeguarding and behavior management, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with health and safety policies.

The role involves communicating with parents and guardians, managing registrations and attendance, providing feedback on children’s participation, and handling any concerns in a timely, professional manner.

The Holiday Club Lead / Manager will also contribute to continuous improvement by evaluating sessions, gathering feedback, and supporting staff training and development.

Qualifications

  • Experience leading or managing children’s activity clubs, holiday schemes, or similar settings, with strong skills in session planning, coordination, and supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and deliver engaging physical activity, sports, and wellbeing programs tailored to primary-age children.
  • Sound knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and health and safety practices, including risk assessment and incident reporting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with children, colleagues, school partners, and parents or guardians.
  • Proven skills in behavior management, conflict resolution, and fostering an inclusive, supportive environment for all children.
  • Organizational and administrative skills, including managing bookings, attendance records, and basic reporting or feedback.
  • Relevant qualification in childcare, education, sports coaching, or a related field (or equivalent experience); paediatric first aid and safeguarding training are highly beneficial.
  • Ability to lead by example, motivate a team, use initiative, and remain calm and solutions-focused in a busy holiday club environment.
