We are looking for a dynamic and creative individual to join our team as a Creative Studio Host at our award-winning tourist destination, World of Wedgwood. World of Wedgwood is the home of Stoke-on-Trent’s most prestigious ceramics brand, Wedgwood, in Barlaston (5 minutes from Trentham). Reporting to the Creative Studio Manager, you will play an important role in delivering an exciting programme of ceramic experiences, ensuring our guests enjoy extraordinary and memorable visits to the Creative Studios at World of Wedgwood.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, creative, and customer-focused individual, ideally with some experience working with clay and wheel throwing, to support our Clay Studio operation. Alongside hosting engaging studio sessions for guests of all ages, you will assist with processing and tracking customer pieces, maintaining studio standards, and supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the studio.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver enjoyable and memorable creative experiences by engaging guests and encouraging participation in studio activities.
  • Provide clear instructions, demonstrate techniques, and guide guests through creative processes with confidence and enthusiasm.
  • Respond to guest enquiries in a professional, friendly, and timely manner.
  • Provide accurate information about Creative Studio experiences, facilities, products, and associated charges.
  • Help create a welcoming environment that encourages creativity and ensures guests feel supported throughout their visit.
  • Host Clay Studio sessions, ensuring a safe, organised, and enjoyable experience for all participants.
  • Maintain high studio standards, including daily set-up, housekeeping, and closing procedures.
  • Support the processing, tracking, recording, firing preparation, and collection of customer work.
  • Process guest transactions and bookings using studio systems.
  • Assist with stock management, studio materials, and general operational tasks.
  • Support the wider Creative Studio team with back-of-house processes and shared responsibilities.
  • Follow all Health & Safety procedures, risk assessments, and studio policies.
  • Support studio events, workshops, and special activities as required.
About You
  • Have a creative flair and an interest in ceramics, ideally with experience working with clay and basic wheel-throwing skills.
  • Be passionate about delivering excellent guest experiences.
  • Enjoy engaging with people and feel confident working with guests of all ages and abilities.
  • Be friendly, approachable, and proactive, with a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Have excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • Work effectively as part of a team while also being able to use their own initiative.
  • Be comfortable using booking systems, processing transactions, and completing administrative tasks.
  • Be flexible and willing to support different areas of the Creative Studios when required.

This is a fixed-term role working approximately 21 hours per week across 3 days, including regular weekend working. Typical working hours are between 9:30am and 5:00pm, although flexibility may be required to support the needs of the business.

Please note that this role involves interaction with visitors to include children, young people and vulnerable adults, therefore successful applicants will be asked to complete a Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) Application.
