Location: Fishguard Health Centre, SA65

Hours: Full Time

Contract: Permanent

Salary: Circa Β£50,000 per annum

We are a four partner GP NHS practice in the beautiful West Wales town of Fishguard. In addition to our partners, we have three salaried GPs, a nursing team and a number of support/administration staff. Our current Practice Manager is leaving us to undertake a full time caring role for a family member, and we are now looking for her replacement.

We view the role of our Practice Manager as being pivotal to the overall business efficiency of the practice, the maintenance of the existing team spirit and providing a trusted and valued communication link to third parties. In essence, you would be our eyes and our ears in maintaining and promoting the business.

We expect to work closely with our Practice Manager to ensure that we are kept fully abreast of contractual and compliance changes, and that we are informed promptly of any issues, changes or ideas that would allow us to make informed decisions, implement service delivery improvements and adopt legislative change where necessary.

This is a varied and complex, permanent, full time role, which attracts a salary circa Β£50,000. Slightly more may be on offer for an exceptional candidate. Whilst previous NHS and/or Practice Manager experience is not a pre-requisite, extensive management experience and the confidence to lead a wide-ranging team through often challenging operating conditions most certainly is.

You will be required to be adaptable and calm in stressful situations, be well organised, happy to lead and develop a team, but to also provide positive guidance and support – and innovative solutions – to unexpected challenges. The breadth of your portfolio covers everything from building issues, staff/HR, and patient problems when they arise. Excellent time management skills and adaptability are key essential attributes to successfully undertaking this role.

Still interested? Please click 'Apply' – you will receive an email from our partner, CHM Recruit, containing the application pack and details on how to submit your application. Please note: you are not applying at this stage.

Closing date: Friday 7th August 2026. Interviews will take place in person here at Fishguard Health Centre w/c 24th August 2026. Dates will be advised to successful candidates after close of the sift. No agencies please.
