About the Role

We are looking for a proactive and enthusiastic Assistant Catering Manager to support the Catering Manager in leading our busy and diverse catering operation at Fishers Farm Park – a multi-award-winning visitor attraction.

This is a hands‑on leadership role where you will be involved in all aspects of the catering department, from front‑line service to team leadership and operational management.

You will also play a wider role in supporting the safe and effective running of the park when required.

  • What You’ll Be Doing
  • Operational Management
  • Support the day‑to‑day running of all catering outlets, including restaurant, coffee bar and seasonal units
  • Ensure smooth service delivery and consistently high standards across all areas
  • Assist with opening/closing procedures and daily planning
  • Take responsibility for the department in the Catering Manager’s absence
  • Supervise, support and motivate supervisors and casual staff
  • Assist with staff training, coaching and ongoing development
  • Lead by example to maintain high standards and a positive team culture
  • Support rota planning and ensure appropriate staffing levels
  • Customer Experience
  • Deliver excellent customer service and ensure a positive visitor experience
  • Maintain strong knowledge of park operations, events and services
  • Respond effectively to challenges in a fast‑paced environment
  • Stock, Admin & Compliance
  • Assist with ordering, stock control and back‑of‑house organisation
  • Ensure high standards of cleanliness, presentation and food quality
  • Maintain compliance with food hygiene, allergen awareness and health & safety procedures
  • Complete and monitor operational checks and records
  • Duty Management & Safety Responsibilities
  • Act as Duty Manager for the wider park when required, supporting operations beyond catering
  • Undertake responsibilities such as first aid provision, fire marshalling and emergency response, playing a key role in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of visitors and staff across the park
  • Support park‑wide communication and coordination during busy periods or incidents
  • Contribute ideas to improve service, efficiency and team performance
  • Support implementation of company policies and procedures
  • Help maintain the high standards expected of an award‑winning attraction

About You

  • Positive, proactive and hands‑on
  • Strong team player with a can‑do attitude
  • Confident supervising or managing staff
  • Organised with strong communication skills
  • Able to remain calm and effective under pressure
  • Previous catering or hospitality experience
  • Experience supervising or managing staff
  • Experience in a high‑volume or visitor attraction environment
  • Full UK driving licence
