Front of House Staff
Contract Term - Seasonal (Full-Time)
Location - Shanklin, Isle of Wight
Salary - Competitive rates, based on experience
Hours - Full Time. This role requires flexibility and will involve a shift pattern of 5 days out of 7, including evenings and weekends.
About Fisherman's Cottage
Nestled just beneath Shanklin Chine in an enviable location at the far end of Shanklin Esplanade, you will find Fisherman’s Cottage, the town’s original thatched dining pub on the beach with a rich heritage dating back to 1817.
We pride ourselves on delivering warm, friendly service alongside great food and drinks in a unique seaside setting. We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Front of House team member with bar experience to join our busy seasonal team.
What You'll Do
- Provide a warm and welcoming experience for all guests
- Take food and drink orders accurately and efficiently
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non‑alcoholic beverages
- Maintain high standards of customer service throughout each shift
- Handle payments and operate the till system
- Keep the bar and dining areas clean, organised, and well‑stocked
- Work closely with colleagues to ensure smooth day‑to‑day operations

- Previous front of house and bar experience is essential
- A friendly, professional, and positive attitude
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy, fast‑paced environment
- Strong teamwork skills and a willingness to help where needed
- Reliable with excellent timekeeping and flexibility
