The Team & Focus of the Role
We have an extremely exciting opportunity to come and join our Infrastructure Services division. The division assists in delivering projects to build a more sustainable and long lasting infrastructure for the UK on behalf of clients across a range of sectors including electricity, gas, water, fibre optics, oil and renewables. We pride ourselves on understanding our clients’ specific requirements and industry developments while maintaining and developing our professional team and advancing our systems to support high quality service delivery.
The role will be varied, including project managing from routing through to construction and completion, and providing consultancy services associated with benchmarking, procedures and management systems. You will be working amongst a growing team of eight colleagues, who are currently working on projects such as supporting the UK’s Net Zero target through the connection of new low carbon energy generation and reinforcing transmission networks.
Based in Ashford, this is a permanent full time position based on 37.5 hours (Monday‑Friday); however we’re open to part time and flexible working (minimum 22.5 hours per week). We are open to speaking to individuals from a broad range of surveying backgrounds and operate a hybrid working policy.

Duties will include:
- Advising on and managing infrastructure projects from a local to national scale, with key clients across the industry including electricity and water, working on major infrastructure projects and asset management portfolios
- Providing land consultancy advice to clients for different work types, such as maintenance of existing apparatus or installation of new equipment
- Advising clients on all aspects of their interactions with landowners, providing professional support
- Involvement in land referencing, preparation and service of statutory notices, negotiation of compensation and acquisition of rights to facilitate projects
- Working to support clients with their major connections customers to help drive customer driven major infrastructure projects and maintain relationships
- Liaising with landowners and dealing with public enquiries
- Reporting directly to clients on progress with projects and preparing regular updates
- Supporting the client in their instruction of other professional services such as environmental and ecological reports and strategy
- Supporting the client’s legal team with all matters where required
- Working with the office partner to build new and manage existing client relationships and diversify workstreams
- Supporting on wider ad hoc projects across the business
- Supporting the training and mentoring of our graduates in the team to help them achieve their goals
- Willingness and commitment to undertake further training and development as required to support the role and the team, and to expand upon experience
The successful candidate will have:
- MRICS or AssocRICS qualifications
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the confidence to communicate and negotiate effectively at all levels
- The ability to self manage in order to meet deadlines
- Experience in building strong, lasting relationships, networking and promoting the business
