The Team & Focus of the Role
We have a new opportunity within our Head Office to welcome a Procurement Manager to our Risk & Compliance team! The role will have a focus on client contract review and sourcing and supplier management, including identifying and evaluating potential suppliers, negotiating contracts and conducting due diligence.
You’ll need to have a track record with cost management, compliance and risk management, ensuring that purchases are cost-effective and within budget, with an awareness for cost savings. You’ll ensure that risks are identified and mitigated, and that all activities comply with laws and regulations, therefore an understanding of the Procurement Act 2023 will be beneficial.

This role will be based in Ashby, and although we do operate a hybrid working policy, it’s essential that you’re able to commute to Ashby weekly. This is a full-time role (37.5 hours).

Duties will include:
- Identifying and evaluating potential suppliers, negotiating contracts, conducting due diligence, monitoring and reviewing suppliers and maintaining a central register (subject to database provisions).
- Providing firmwide consistency and visibility between departments to encourage cross referring.
- Ensuring that purchases are cost-effective and within budget, while also seeking opportunities for cost savings.
- Ensuring that all procurement activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies – with input from R&C and in line with the Procurement Act 2023 (effective Feb 2025).
- Identifying and mitigating risks and trends related to the supply chain and escalating to R&C where needed.
- Assist with external audits: ISO9001/27001/14001.
- Maintain a client contract register.
- Review any client relationships deviating from FG Terms.
- Contract review for new clients and renewals for existing clients – advising on risks and key reporting requirements – seeking input from R&C where needed.
- Create guidelines for delegated authority and escalation, setting out a clear escalation process.
- Work with stakeholders to assess their needs and develop procurement strategies that align with their goals.

The successful candidate will have…
- A proven track record in Procurement/Purchasing
- Experience of working in a professional services environment
- Experience of working in a firm certified to ISO standards (Desirable)
- Good awareness of the relevant laws, regulations, and codes of conduct applicable to a firm of chartered surveyors/property consultants
- Degree-level education or equivalent experience
- Good attention to detail and organisational skills
- Effective communication, report writing and data analysis skills
- A team player who shares information and ideas
- Legal or compliance qualification (Desirable)
