Our leading Rural Client Accounts team is offering an exciting opportunity for a Client Accountant to take a key role in the financial management of diverse client portfolios and the properties within them. In this role, you will be responsible for managing specific ledger balances and related financial transactions, preparing accurate financial reports for clients, and providing commentary and supporting documentation. You will also play a key role in liaising with both external clients and internal colleagues, including asset managers and property managers. This is a permanent, full-time role (37.5 hours), based at our office in Ashby de la Zouch. We also operate a hybrid working policy.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately record and maintain all financial transactions
  • Prepare and complete bank reconciliations
  • Ensure timely and precise processing of payments, invoices, and financial records
  • Liaise effectively with third-party providers, clients, and suppliers
  • Prepare and present financial reports
  • Complete and submit VAT returns
  • Reconcile and manage supplier accounts

The successful candidate will have

  • Desirable to have experience in Xero, QuickBooks or Sage50
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to engage effectively with surveyors, clients, and third parties
  • Experience with VAT and knowledge of partial exemption is desirable
  • Proven ability to multitask and prioritise workload, supported by excellent time-management skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail, demonstrating diligence and precision in all work delivered
  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
