We have an exciting, new opportunity for an AI Automation & Governance Lead to come and join our Systems team (as part of our wider IT function) at our Head Office in Ashby de la Zouch.

Our IT department is responsible for delivering secure, reliable and innovative technology services that support Fisher German's business operations, client services and strategic objectives. You will be responsible for driving the effective, responsible and compliant adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) across the firm. The role will lead the AI Working Group, act as the organisation's AI subject matter expert, and help business teams identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency and service delivery through the use of AI and automation technologies.

As a regulated business and member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), the responsible use of AI, data governance and information security are fundamental to maintaining professional standards and client trust. The successful candidate will work closely with Information Security, Data Governance, Compliance, Risk, Change and Business Application teams to establish appropriate governance, manage AI-related risks, ensure compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements, and promote the ethical use of AI across the organisation.

The role will also be responsible for managingAI services and licensing, including Microsoft Copilot, developing AI policies and standards, sharing best practice, supporting user adoption, and ensuring the business derives measurable value from its investment in AI technologies.

This is a full-time (37.5 hours), permanent role, based at our Head Office in Ashby de la Zouch. We also operate a hybrid working policy.

Duties will include:

  • Leading the organisation's AI Working Group and coordinate AI initiatives across the business.
  • Develop, maintain and deliver the organisation's AI strategy and roadmap, as well as act as the principal advisor on AI technologies, opportunities and risks.
  • Establish and maintain a network of AI champions across the organisation.
  • Develop and maintain the organisation's AI governance framework, policies and standards and ensure that AI solutions are implemented and operated in accordance with legal, regulatory and ethical requirements.
  • Monitor developments in AI legislation, regulatory guidance and industry best practice.
  • Ensure compliance with GDPR, UK data protection legislation, intellectual property requirements and other relevant regulations.
  • Work with Risk, Compliance, Information Security and Data Protection teams to assess and manage AI-related risks.
  • Ensure AI adoption aligns with RICS professional standards and obligations.
  • Maintain oversight of approved AI tools, use cases and associated governance controls.
  • Support risk assessments, DPIAs and governance reviews relating to AI implementations.
  • Ensure users understand how to use AI technologies safely, responsibly and effectively, as well as establish guidance, standards and training materials to support AI adoption.
  • Measure AI adoption, engagement and business value.
  • Manage Microsoft Copilot and other AI-related licensing within Microsoft 365, monitoring license utilisation, adoption and return on investment, as well as recommendation for future licensing requirements and AI investments.
  • Develop recommendations for future licensing requirements and AI investments.
  • Support the implementation and administration of Microsoft AI capabilities, including Copilot and related services.
  • Work with business stakeholders to understand operational challenges and opportunities, including the review of business processes and identify where AI or automation can improve efficiency, quality or customer outcomes.
  • Facilitate workshops to identify, assess and prioritise AI opportunities.
  • Develop business cases and implementation plans for AI initiatives.
  • Lead or coordinate proof-of-concepts, pilot programmes and production deployments.
  • Measure and report realised benefits, including productivity gains, cost savings and service improvements.
  • Monitor trends or future implementations in AI. Identify and report any advantages which the business might benefit from
  • Identify upcoming planned or announced changes to licencing or services provided to the organisation (for example Microsoft), which may impact future costs or budgetary requirements.
  • Identify outgoing support or deprecation of any AI service the organisation uses. Provide in advance plans to migrate to a new or updated service if appropriate.
  • Identify when an AI service is no longer providing value to the business or the business are not fully using its true potential. Advise on decommissioning services no longer proving benefit or value.
  • Identity overlapping or duplicate AI services in order to rationalise the organisations use.

The successful candidate will have...

  • Experience leading AI, automation, digital transformation or business improvement initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Copilot and AI capabilities within Microsoft 365.
  • Experience assessing and improving business processes.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
  • Experience developing governance frameworks, policies or operating standards.
  • Understanding of AI-related risks, ethics, information security and data protection requirements.
  • Experience building business cases and measuring benefits realisation.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into practical business outcomes.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Automate, Power Apps and Copilot Studio.
  • Knowledge of Azure AI services and AI development platforms.
  • Experience implementing workflow automation or robotic process automation solutions.
  • Understanding of the regulatory and professional environment within property, surveying or professional services organisations.
  • Knowledge of RICS standards and guidance.
  • Familiarity with ISO 42001, ISO 27001 and AI governance frameworks.
  • Relevant Microsoft, AI, Business Analysis or Project Management certifications.
