The Team & Focus of the Role Due to an upcoming retirement, we have a rare opportunity for an experienced Financial Controller to join our Finance team, based from either our Ashby de la Zouch or Birmingham office.

This is more than a traditional Financial Controller role.

While strong technical finance experience is important, the real focus of this opportunity is leadership, influence and continuous improvement.

You'll be leading a capable finance team, supporting and developing colleagues, and building strong relationships across the wider business — including at Partnership level.

You'll play a key role in ensuring we continue to deliver accurate, insightful financial reporting, robust cash flow forecasting and effective working capital management.

Alongside this, we're looking for someone who can bring fresh thinking to how we work — identifying opportunities to improve processes, enhance reporting, strengthen compliance and support the continued evolution of the finance function.

This is an exciting time to join the team.

Finance is going through a period of positive transformation, including the implementation of a new ERP system, the introduction of a business partnering model and a wider focus on raising performance levels across the business.

In this role, you'll have the opportunity to help shape that journey, working with a team of 7 direct reports and 13 colleagues overall, while making a visible impact across the organisation.

This is a full-time role, and we can offer flexibility around whether you are primarily based from Ashby de la Zouch or Birmingham, with regular time spent in both offices — ideally at least twice a week in Ashby.

In return, beyond your base salary you will be included in

  • A discretionary bonus scheme
  • Car Allowance
  • Private Healthcare
  • A generous holiday scheme which commences at 25 days with a sliding scale up to 30 days plus an additional day for your birthday, and additional days to cover the festive period!
  • Enhanced maternity, paternity, adoption and shared parental leave
  • An online money saving portal
  • Death In Service cover, alongside access to an Employee Assistance Programme which includes health appoints for you and your family
  • Volunteering Leave equating to 2 days per year (pro rata if you're part-time) ...
