We are seeking an experienced and driven Civils Project Manager to lead delivery on a large-scale civil engineering project near Taunton. This is a key role responsible for managing both substructure and superstructure works, ensuring the project is delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all aspects of substructure and superstructure works on a major civil engineering project
- Lead site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure efficient project execution
- Develop and maintain project programmes, monitoring progress against milestones
- Ensure full compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards
- Manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost control measures
- Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and senior management, providing regular updates
- Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies
- Ensure all works are delivered in accordance with specifications and design requirements
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Project Manager within civil engineering projects
- Strong background in both substructure and superstructure works
- Valid SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification (essential)
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Strong commercial awareness and cost management experience
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and drive project performance
- Relevant qualification in Civil Engineering or Construction Management (preferred)
