Our client, one of the region's leading Groundworks subcontractors, is actively looking to bolster their team with the addition of a new Contracts Manager.
About the Role
Experienced and driven Groundworks Contracts Manager to oversee multiple projects from pre-construction through to completion. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee multiple groundworks and civil engineering projects simultaneously
- Lead project teams, including site managers, engineers, and subcontractors
- Ensure all works are carried out in compliance with health & safety regulations
- Monitor project progress, budgets, and timelines, implementing corrective actions where necessary
- Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and senior management to provide regular updates
- Review and negotiate contracts, variations, and procurement schedules
- Drive quality assurance and ensure all works meet required specifications
- Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Contracts Manager within groundworks or civil engineering
- Strong technical knowledge of groundworks, drainage, foundations, and infrastructure works
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and teams effectively
- Strong commercial awareness and contract management experience
- SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
- Experience working with Tier 1 contractors or major developers
- Knowledge of NEC or JCT contracts
