Location: Winchester, Hampshire Job Type: Permanent Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 The Role Are you an experienced Senior Estimator looking for your next opportunity within civil engineering? Youll join a growing business with an established presence across the South of England, working on a varied portfolio of civil engineering, groundworks and infrastructure projects . Youll take ownership of tenders from initial review through to submission, using your commercial and technical knowledge to produce accurate, competitive bids and help secure new work. What youll be doing Lead the estimating process from tender review through to submission. Prepare accurate estimates, cost plans and detailed tender returns. Review drawings, specifications, scopes and contract documentation . Obtain, assess and negotiate subcontractor and supplier quotations. Identify commercial risks, opportunities and value engineering options . Work closely with the pre-construction, commercial and operational teams. Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors. About the Company Youll be joining an established civil engineering and contracting business based near Winchester , delivering projects across the South of England. The business provides a broad range of services including groundworks, earthworks, drainage, foundations and piling, remediation, retaining walls and infrastructure works . It combines civil engineering expertise with a multi-skilled workforce and established supply chain to deliver projects from start to finish. What Youll Need Essential Proven experience as an Estimator or Senior Estimator within civil engineering . Strong understanding of groundworks, civils and construction methodologies . Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and tender documentation. Strong commercial awareness with excellent attention to detail. Experience pricing subcontractor, plant, labour and material costs. Confident communication and negotiation skills. Desirable Experience across groundworks, infrastructure, remediation or earthworks . Experience working on both private and public-sector projects. HNC/HND or relevant construction/civil engineering qualification. Strong knowledge of estimating software and Excel. Whats on Offer Competitive salary , dependent on experience.
