Fish Brothers is a well-established, multi-franchise automotive retail group with over 75 years of heritage and ambitious growth plans. As we accelerate our digital capability, we are seeking a commercially focused Head of IT & Digital Transformation to take ownership of both our strategic roadmap and operational IT performance across the group. Reporting directly to the Directors, this is a high-impact leadership role within a lean internal team. You will shape the future direction of IT while ensuring day-to-day stability, security and delivery. This is a role for someone who can both lead and execute.
The Opportunity
- Developing and delivering a phased digital strategy aligned to commercial growth
- Driving integration across DMS, CRM, finance and manufacturer systems
- Leading automation initiatives to reduce manual processes
- Strengthening cybersecurity, governance and resilience
- Ensuring disciplined delivery of key IT and transformation projects
- Overseeing infrastructure, suppliers and service levels across multiple sites
Working within a small team (2 full-time including this role, plus a part-time trainee), you will remain close to the operational detail. You will provide hands-on oversight where required, while building capability, structure and accountability within the function.
About You
You are an experienced senior IT leader who combines strategic thinking with operational credibility. You have successfully delivered transformation or integration projects within a multi-site business, but you are equally comfortable being hands-on when required. You understand that in a lean structure, leadership includes ownership of both direction and delivery. You bring structure, pace and accountability. You are confident influencing at board level, yet pragmatic enough to ensure the foundations are robust and secure. Strong cybersecurity and governance knowledge is essential. Experience within automotive retail or similar customer-facing, operationally intensive sectors would be advantageous. Above all, you take responsibility — for outcomes, not activity.
Why Join Fish Brothers?
This is a genuine opportunity to modernise and shape IT within an established and ambitious automotive retail group. You will have direct board access, clear authority and the mandate to move the function forward — not just maintain it. The business is ready to invest and progress; it now requires the right leader to deliver with pace and discipline. If you are motivated by impact, ownership and long-term value creation — and you want to lead meaningful change within a progressive automotive retail group — we would welcome your application.
Please note that this job advert will close as soon as sufficient applications have been received. If you are interested in applying please apply as soon as possible. Due to the numbers of applications we receive we do not respond to applications unless we wish to progress with your application.
