About your role: The Technical Consultant will be responsible for gathering and understanding the business needs of First Data clients. They will then ensure that the requirements are accurately documented allowing technical teams to implement the defined solution. This person should work under less direct supervision with some latitude for independent judgment. Consult with senior peers on non-complex projects to learn through experience. This position will be supporting a range of projects and programmes across the FirstVision Issuing solution.

What you’ll do:

  • Support consultancy for Design, develop, implement, and maintenance of various business applications. Includes data gathering and statistical analysis, model development and enhancements, ongoing maintenance, etc.
  • Understand current business procedures, problems with those current procedures, and recommend possible solutions that use the FirstVision technology. This includes data gathering and exploration, research into current industry trends, and what competitors might be doing.
  • Feasibility assessment of client requirements against existing FirstVision functionality.
  • Interrogation of system possibilities that would meet client requirements, and effort assessment for same.
  • Determine stakeholders (clients / internal teams / vendors), and establish areas for additional stakeholder involvement.
  • Awareness of cost effectiveness, timeliness and priorities of each delivery.
  • Ability to elicit necessary detail and comprehend multiple technical wide-ranging requirements.
  • Anticipate post-production implications with delivery of requirements. Assess the impacts to each (multiple) stakeholder involved.
  • International travel may be required.

Experience you’ll need to have:

  • 7 to 8 years of BA experience in Cards domain.
  • Project management methodology knowledge and experience – ‘Waterfall’ & ‘Agile’ Methodology.
  • Proven track record of gathering customer requirements, analysing and translating these into business processes.
  • Ability to provide concise and necessary details required for each stakeholder (multiple).
  • Minimise need for multiple iterations of ‘review and update’ sessions prior to client sign-off, as well as additional developer / tester questioning following client sign-off.
  • Descriptive writing of requirements by various methods, examples, screen-shots, Visio diagrams, tables, language. Grammatically and technically correct with a professional appearance.
  • Tracking requirements and respective solutions (single or multi-party). Creating Systems Impact Documents and usage XLS, XML, Visio, PowerPoint depending on Project size / scope and adhering to client’s style of operation.
  • Flexible (occasional OOH working supporting implementations).

Experience that would be great to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field of study for software development and project/program management preferred.
  • Working knowledge of VisionPlus is desirable.
