About The Role
This role is office based 5 days per week at Tricorn House, Birmingham. The role would suit someone with an understanding of post room equipment and activities with a keen eye for detail, a willingness to learn, an understanding of confidentiality/compliance and a welcoming personality. As there is no reception at this building for FIS the Mail Associate is the first welcoming face of FIS and Platform Securities so friendly and helpful is a must.
What You Will Be Doing~
- Presorts outgoing mail
- Carries out established procedures in handling incoming and outgoing mail, arranging it by bank, distributing it and operating equipment associated with mail activities
- Verifies, documents and bundles packages and indicates extra or missing bundles according to procedure
- Ensures items are classified, labeled and accounted for and cash letters produced in an accurate and timely manner
- Processes large amounts of postage daily
- Receives packages, verifies items against the record of shipment and inspects condition
- Gathers, verifies and packs items for shipment according to specifications and the transportation method used
- Records received and shipped items according to established procedures
- Ensures packing documentation corresponds with all packages or envelopes before distribution
- Responsible for programming and operating post room equipment
- Works within limited time requirements
- Facilities activities as identified by the facilities manager / coding / purchase orders/ spreadsheets/ compliance activities in relation to the post room
- Other related duties assigned as needed
What You Will Be Doing~
- Capacity to lift or move up to 30 pounds
- Proficient written and oral communication skills in dealing with employees or external customers/clients
- Knowledge of office policies and procedures
- Knowledge of mail services process
- Proficiency in using PCs, postage meter and other general office equipment experience
- Proficiency to work independently
