Your new role
Our infrastructure is built on Microsoft Azure with fully automated infrastructure as code using CI/CD pipelines. Our customers are mainly Banks and therefore ensuring the platform is available is critical. We are looking for an experienced proactive Senior DevOps Engineer with strong skills in delivering always-on systems on cloud Infrastructure using Kubernetes clusters. Part of the Platform Engineering team, which encompasses DevOps, Change and Release, SRE and Security Operations, the role of a Senior DevOps Engineer is to support the build, maintenance and upgrade of our platforms using infrastructure-as-code and automation pipelines.
What you will do
- Maintain and enhance tools to automate application and infrastructure deployment, and to monitor operations
- Coordinate with other members of the DevOps team, Development, Test, and other teams to enhance and optimize existing processes
- Help maintain and support current and future Azure based cloud platforms and infrastructure
- Provide guidance & support to the Dev and QA teams as needed
- Implement and support monitoring and logging solutions that enable the production systems to be monitored 24/7
- Support and mentor other team members
Who you are
Must have skills:
- 3 + years of experience in a DevOps / Site Reliability Engineering or related role
- 4 + years of experience in supporting web based customer facing infrastructure and applications
- Well versed with Kubernetes and Docker, container automation experience, deploying Kubernetes clusters in the cloud preferably Azure
- Experienced managing environments in Azure & or AWS from Dev to Production
- Hands on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Terraform, GitLab, Bamboo, Team City
- Hands on experience with Provisioning languages such as PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, Bash etc.
- Proven track record of deploying/running/troubleshooting Docker containers in a production environment
- Good understanding of wider infrastructure such as firewalls, load balancing networking
- Encourage and promote a culture of collaboration between teams
You will be a great fit for the role, if in addition to the above, you have:
- 4+ years of experience with Microsoft Azure services
- Knowledge of both Wintel and Linux based platforms
- Familiarity with infrastructure automation tools and pipelines
- Java Applications configuration and Sybase services
- Working with and have understanding of Agile and Lean methodologies
- Working knowledge of log aggregation and APM/telemetry tools
- Working knowledge of WAFs, CDNs, Networking
