We are looking to appoint an organised, proactive, and detail-oriented HR Officer to join our school within the central team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in supporting staff wellbeing and ensuring the efficient running of HR and payroll processes within a busy school environment. Working closely with the School Business Manager, you will deliver a comprehensive HR administration service, supporting recruitment, payroll, employee relations, and compliance, while contributing to the overall ethos and success of the school.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a high-quality HR administration service, including managing staff records, absence tracking, and HR documentation
  • Oversee payroll administration, ensuring accurate and timely data submission
  • Support recruitment processes, from advertising roles through to issuing contracts
  • Coordinate DBS checks and maintain the Single Central Record in line with safeguarding requirements
  • Act as the first point of contact for HR queries, providing advice and escalating where necessary
  • Analyse absence data and produce reports for senior leadership
  • Support employee relations processes and meetings
  • Assist with induction of new staff members
  • Maintain accurate electronic personnel records and ensure GDPR compliance
  • Ensure school policies are up to date and distributed appropriately
  • Contribute to safeguarding, equality, and wellbeing across the school

Who we are looking for

  • Has experience or knowledge of HR administration and payroll systems
  • Demonstrates strong IT skills, familiarity with MS Office, including spreadsheets and data analysis
