Your Role, Your Impact

The Health and Safety Compliance Manager will be responsible for ensuring life safety regulatory compliance by quality assessing GRA’s and associated documents to ensure that the correct life safety actions have been identified. To do this the Health and Safety Compliance Manager will work closely with Building Safety Managers, Fire Safety Managers, Safety Assurance Business Partners, Property Managers, Development Managers and Regional Managers, establish and maintain communications with all stakeholders (internal and external), form and maintain relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality assess GRA’s against associated reports and building characteristics
  • Liaise with GRA providers to ensure accuracy
  • Highlight key document gaps
  • Review the Life safety related golden thread issues for the building hazard profile.
  • Produce safety risk-based list of actions for operations
  • Ensure Data station is updated
  • Update Building Safety Managers to ensure engagement message is aligned
  • Support operations managers and safety assurance business partners as required with higher level health and safety technical advice and guidance
  • Support Management with external enforcement authority liaison
  • Support due diligence/mobilisation
  • Investigate Health and Safety incidents and provide higher level technical advice and guidance for prevention purposes
  • Respond to health and safety emergencies providing higher level technical advice and guidance
  • Provide regular reports as required on performance and learning opportunities

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in Health and Safety Practice
  • Proven experience of reviewing General Building related risk assessments
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the wide range of life safety regulations and requirements, such as electrical, gas, asbestos, DSEAR, legionella, LOLER, etc.
  • Experience of working across functions to deliver results
  • Hold industry relevant accreditations such as IOSH, IFSM, CIOB, IWFM, RICS, TPI
  • Be passionate about life safety prevention and ensuring that homes under our management are safe for residents
  • Hold a full UK driving licence
