Are you a B2B Business Development Manager (100% hunting) with 7+ years of full sales cycle UK business development experience? This is not a Sales Director position; we are looking for around 7-15 years of Business Development experience.

First Point Group is recruiting for an established UK-based technology and telecommunications solutions provider seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to accelerate growth across its mid-market and enterprise customer base. You do not need previous telecom experience, but B2B and experience selling multi-site solutions/services is mandatory.

This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially driven sales professional who enjoys identifying new business opportunities, developing relationships with senior decision-makers, and delivering tailored solutions to customers with complex operational requirements.

Our client provides business-critical connectivity and technology solutions to organisations across multiple industries, including construction, manufacturing, logistics, and other sectors operating across geographically dispersed locations.

Unlike a traditional transactional sales position, this role requires a consultative approach to understanding customer challenges, identifying opportunities, and developing solutions that address specific business and operational requirements.

Please note - visa sponsorship is not possible so candidates must be based in the UK with rights to work.

Key Responsibilities

  • New Business Development
    • Identify, target and secure new business opportunities across mid-market and enterprise customers.
    • Develop and execute a structured prospecting strategy to generate a consistent pipeline of qualified opportunities.

    • Identify opportunities within organisations operating across multiple locations, departments or business units.
  • Consultative Sales & Solution Development
    • Understand customer requirements through detailed discovery and stakeholder engagement.
    • Work collaboratively with internal technical and operational teams to develop tailored connectivity and technology solutions.
    • Translate complex customer challenges into compelling commercial proposals and business cases.
  • Sales Cycle Management
    • Manage the complete sales cycle, from initial prospecting and qualification through to proposal development, negotiation and contract signature.
    • Develop and deliver customer presentations, commercial proposals and pricing recommendations.
    • Negotiate contractual terms and secure profitable new business.
  • Commercial Performance
    • Take ownership of individual sales targets, pipeline development and revenue generation.

Candidate Requirements

  • Essential
    • Proven experience in B2B new business development, ideally selling technology, technical services or complex commercial solutions.
    • Demonstrable success generating opportunities, managing the full sales cycle and closing new business.
    • Strong consultative selling skills, including customer discovery, solution development and commercial negotiation.
    • Experience engaging with senior decision-makers and influencing complex purchasing decisions.
    • Ability to understand different customer requirements and develop tailored commercial solutions.
    • Strong commercial awareness, relationship-building skills and a proactive approach to business development.
    • Experience working towards and achieving revenue targets.
  • Desirable
    • Experience selling telecommunications, connectivity, networking, managed services or related technology solutions.
    • Exposure to construction, manufacturing, logistics or other operationally complex industries.
    • Experience selling into organisations operating across multiple locations.
    • Understanding of connectivity technologies, including broadband, leased lines, 4G/5G, wireless networking or managed network services.
    • Experience working alongside technical specialists to develop bespoke customer solutions.

What's on Offer

  • Lucrative and uncapped commission potential.
  • Opportunity to sell business-critical technology and connectivity solutions.
  • Exposure to customers with complex operational and multi-site requirements.
