As a Senior Sports Consultant (Sales), you will play a pivotal role in driving FirstPoint's growth across the UK and international sports markets. You will be responsible for identifying and recruiting talented male and female student-athletes, nurturing leads through to enrolment, and delivering value-driven consultation to players and their families. You'll also work closely with clubs, academies, and governing bodies to grow FirstPoint's presence, attend Talent ID events, and represent the company as a trusted advisor. This is a sales-driven role, supported by a strong lead generation and marketing team. You'll work toward clear monthly performance and revenue targets, with an OTE of Β£65,000.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and grow FirstPoint's sports recruitment business across the UK and international markets
- Consult with prospective student-athletes and their families to assess eligibility, explain the US college pathway, and recommend suitable service packages
- Manage inbound leads, pre-qualified consultations, and referral networks to build a robust pipeline of candidates
- Conduct virtual and in-person sales consultations using a structured, high-conversion consultative approach
- Build and maintain relationships with sports academies, schools, clubs, and governing bodies to identify prospective talent
- Deliver compelling presentations at Talent ID events, school visits, and webinars
- Collaborate with internal placement and media teams to ensure client expectations are met and success stories are shared
- Track all client activity using CRM software and provide weekly reports on KPIs and revenue performance
- Provide feedback to the Director of Sport and contribute to sales strategy, product development, and commercial partnerships
Qualifications
- Proven sales background with a strong record of achieving and exceeding performance targets
- Minimum 3β5 years of experience in the sports industry β coaching, playing, recruitment, or academy management
- Deep understanding of the student-athlete journey and US collegiate sports system
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with athletes and parents
- Self-motivated, proactive, and resilient under pressure
- Experience working with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred)
- Comfortable working evenings and weekends to meet the availability of families and partner organisations
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally for events and meetings
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience playing or coaching within US collegiate sport
- Existing relationships within the UK sports network (clubs, schools, academies)
- Proficiency with Zoom, Microsoft applications, and CRM tools
- Degree-level education in a sports, business, or education-related field
