Client Account Support | Transport & Logistics
Portishead, Bristol | Full-time | Office-based
£27,500 to £32,500, depending on experience
If you enjoy taking responsibility for customers and want more scope to develop, there’s plenty to get involved with at Firstpoint Logistics.
We’re growing and looking for someone who wants to play an active part in that growth. You’ll help our clients get the transport service they need, build relationships that develop into repeat business and contribute ideas that improve how we work.
You’ll join an experienced team with our own technology behind you and direct access to the people developing the business. For someone keen to learn, contribute and earn greater responsibility, this is an opportunity to build a career with us.
About Firstpoint
Firstpoint Logistics provides dedicated, time-critical and specialist transport across the UK, Europe and internationally. Our clients rely on us for deliveries that matter to their operations, their customers and their reputation.
We combine an established network of drivers and specialist transport partners with a knowledgeable, long-serving team and Onepoint, our own transport management platform.
We’re continuing to invest in our technology, automation and AI to improve how we operate. In this role, you’ll use those tools every day and help identify where they could make our service better.
The role
You’ll support clients from their initial enquiry through to successful delivery, taking ownership of quotations, bookings and communication throughout.
That means understanding what a customer needs, putting together the right transport solution and keeping things moving when circumstances change. It also means recognising the commercial opportunity in great service: following up enquiries, securing bookings and giving customers good reasons to keep working with us.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Preparing prompt, accurate quotations that meet customer requirements and protect profitability.
- Following up enquiries and converting quotations into confirmed bookings.
- Sourcing suitable vehicles and transport providers, balancing service quality, availability and cost.
- Coordinating consignments from booking through to delivery.
- Monitoring live movements, resolving issues and keeping clients informed before they need to chase.
- Building strong relationships with customers, drivers and transport partners.
- Identifying opportunities to develop client accounts through a better understanding of their transport needs.
Alongside your client responsibilities, you’ll help strengthen our driver and specialist supplier network. This includes supporting subcontractor onboarding and use of our driver app, finding suppliers for complex requirements and contributing practical improvements to our processes.
Who we’re looking for
You’ll bring at least two years’ experience in logistics, transport, freight forwarding or a busy customer-facing service role.
You may already understand transport, or you may be ready to apply strong customer service and problem-solving skills in a new industry.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Communicates clearly and confidently, including when plans change or a difficult conversation is needed.
- Takes action on emerging problems and follows them through to resolution.
- Organises their workload carefully and keeps accurate information while managing competing priorities.
- Understands that customer service, costs and profit all influence a good commercial decision.
- Works independently while knowing when to involve colleagues.
- Is confident with IT and interested in learning how technology, automation and AI can improve everyday work.
- Wants to develop their knowledge, contribute ideas and take on greater responsibility through strong performance.
Experience with road freight, subcontractor networks, transport management systems, CRM tools or driver apps would be beneficial.
What you can expect
You’ll work closely with experienced colleagues and our leadership team, building your understanding of client accounts, transport operations and the commercial decisions behind our service.
There’s room to influence how things are done here. Useful ideas can become practical changes, and strong performance can create opportunities for broader operational responsibility as Firstpoint grows.
