Position: Roadside Recovery Mechanic
Location: Bowling Back Lane, Bradford, BD4 8SP
Working Hours: 38 hours per week – rotation of early and late shifts, 6am‑2pm, 12pm‑10pm, 4 or 5 days per week
Hourly Rate: £13.45 per hour
About The Role
Do you have a keen interest in mechanics, perhaps a level 2 SVQ? Enjoy driving and want to learn more? This role offers great learning and development for anyone looking to further their career in engineering. The purpose of a Roadside Recovery Mechanic is to attend, assess and repair minor vehicle breakdowns on the roadside in order to get the vehicle safely back to the depot for full repair. It’s an important role within our engineering team and allows us to keep things moving.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend and repair bus breakdowns in and around the Glasgow area, driving a company vehicle
- Booking out parts from the stores department when required
- Deliver a high standard of repair/temporary repair to get our buses back to the depot
- Complete accurate breakdown records, keeping paperwork up to date and correctly completed
- Carry out any other duties that may be deemed suitable by the engineering manager
About You
- You must hold a valid UK driving licence
- Are you familiar with mechanical repair techniques and the use of diagnostic equipment?
- A PCV Licence is advantageous, however not essential; we will help you gain this
- Do you have great attention to detail and a willingness to learn?
