About the role - PSV/HGV Technician

Do you want to be part of our energetic team of mechanical engineers and maintenance staff repairing our fleet of buses? If yes, then this Skilled Engineer position could just be the job for you! We offer technical up-skilling and career progression and we will also provide your PPE and basic tools you will need to succeed in your role, as well as a competitive hourly rate and great rewards & benefits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnosing and repairing vehicle faults, servicing, and replacing parts as needed
  • Identifying issues accurately and recommending the correct method of repair and parts required
  • Performing routine inspections and servicing using handheld data capture devices (where applicable)
  • Attending roadside breakdowns and supporting vehicle recoveries

Details:

  • Location: Weston-super-Mare
  • Working Hours: 39 hours per week, 5 days over 7 on a rotating shift pattern of early and lates
  • Salary: £20.92 per hour + weekend premium if you work any shifts over a weekend + £3,000 new recruit Joining Bonus!

About You:

  • Do you have a minimum of a Level 3 NVQ standard or equivalent qualification in vehicle mechanics?
  • Do you have a valid UK driver's licence? A PCV licence is desirable, ability to obtain PCV licence is essential (we will help you obtain this)
  • Experience of working with buses & coaches would be an advantage, but any vehicle mechanic experience will be considered (HGV)
  • Do you have Right to Work in the UK?
