As a Multi Skilled Engineer, you will work on GWR Fleet units and some third-party vehicles. Safety, teamwork, and following clear instructions are very important. Jobs are explained step-by-step according to Train Vehicle Maintenance Instructions, so you always know what to do.
Your Tasks
- Perform Safety Critical and Non-Safety Critical tasks according to your skills and training for different types of traction.
- Complete maintenance examinations to make sure vehicles are safe and working correctly.
- Replace components when required to keep vehicles running.
- Carry out general depot duties, like housekeeping, organising tools, or helping others.
- Carry out mechanical and electrical diagnostic and maintenance work, including:
- Finding and fixing faults
- Reporting defects clearly

What Is Expected From You

Minimum requirements:
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) or time served Apprenticeship in an Electrical or Mechanical discipline (ideally both given the multi competence requirement).
