The predicted salary is between 30000 - 33483 £ per year.

Location: The Wenlock School, Dudley, West Midlands, DY1 3SB

Hours: 37.5 per week (Monday 8:15am – 4:30pm, Tuesday–Friday 8:15am – 3:45pm)

Salary: Up to £42,000.00 per annum (dependant on experience, not pro rata)

Contract: Permanent Term Time Only

Start: September 2026

About the Role

  • Deliver a personalised and inclusive education for pupils with additional needs.
  • Create engaging, adaptable learning experiences in small classes or one‑to‑one settings.
  • Develop and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs), behavioural plans and EHCP targets.
  • Plan and teach differentiated lessons across the National Curriculum, using visual supports, sensory strategies and assistive technology to maximise accessibility and engagement.
  • Track, record and report on pupil progress, prepare documentation for annual reviews and support whole‑school development priorities.
  • Apply trauma‐informed and therapeutic approaches to support pupils with complex needs and promote emotional regulation, positive behaviour and independence.
  • Work collaboratively with a multi‑professional team, therapists, support staff, care teams and parents/carers to ensure consistency between school and home.
  • Maintain high professional standards, uphold safeguarding responsibilities, manage classroom resources effectively and comply with all school policies and regulatory requirements.

About You

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Proven experience working with children with SEND, specifically managing emotional and behavioural difficulties.
  • Deep understanding of how to adapt SMSC and British Values for pupils with varying cognitive levels.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to build rapport with vulnerable pupils and families.
  • A calm, caring nature with high expectations for personal growth of every child.
