Location: The Wenlock School, Dudley, West Midlands, DY1 3SB
Hours: 37.5 per week (Monday 8:15am – 4:30pm, Tuesday–Friday 8:15am – 3:45pm)
Salary: Up to £42,000.00 per annum (dependant on experience, not pro rata)
Contract: Permanent Term Time Only

About the Role
- Deliver a personalised and inclusive education for pupils with additional needs.
- Create engaging, adaptable learning experiences in small classes or one‑to‑one settings.
- Develop and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs), behavioural plans and EHCP targets.
- Plan and teach differentiated lessons across the National Curriculum, using visual supports, sensory strategies and assistive technology to maximise accessibility and engagement.
- Track, record and report on pupil progress, prepare documentation for annual reviews and support whole‑school development priorities.
- Apply trauma‐informed and therapeutic approaches to support pupils with complex needs and promote emotional regulation, positive behaviour and independence.
- Work collaboratively with a multi‑professional team, therapists, support staff, care teams and parents/carers to ensure consistency between school and home.
- Maintain high professional standards, uphold safeguarding responsibilities, manage classroom resources effectively and comply with all school policies and regulatory requirements.
About You
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Proven experience working with children with SEND, specifically managing emotional and behavioural difficulties.
- Deep understanding of how to adapt SMSC and British Values for pupils with varying cognitive levels.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to build rapport with vulnerable pupils and families.
- A calm, caring nature with high expectations for personal growth of every child.
